Yeah... Yeah I Know...

During my department retreat... one of the team building exercises involved us making exquisite cars with only lego pieces and pretend to sell it to the mass market and the winner was the one whose car was the most popular among buyers... the catch was the more lego pieces u used the more costly the car would be... apart from that u'd have to have an effective promo campaign to make pple wanna buy your car... the best in creative minds came together to build cars that could fly... cars that could float on water... even some tat were just normal looking cars but could teleport to your destination (as displayed during its marketing segment)... w o w... me? i made a robot ;>
I take retreats very seriously...

Was reading the TODAY paper on my way to work yesterday and i came across this ad which was highlighting the Singapore National Barista Championships being held this Thurs to Sat... the moment i saw it my eye just could not leave tat page... a sense of nostalgia swept across my veins... my pal jon and i always talked about how we would win if there ever was such a competition like this in Singapore... but of course when we said all these we were still working in Bakerzin and in our prime... haven't touched a canista of milk nor a steam noozle for close to 2 yrs now... don't know whether i still got it... and it's sad to know... the one thing i was probably "very good" at... and i'm not there... ;<

Tues and Wed were one of the most boring days of my career... As i was away at a department retreat on Monday... Coming back to office on Tues i was eager to clear my backlog of e-mails and files... the moment i step into the office i turn on my computer... but it seems to be conducting the longest virus check ever in the history of virus checks... call the tech guys to check it out... the news isn't good... my com playing punk with me... they take her away to operate... news filters down to me that I can only see her on Wed afternoon... that's like a good 1.5 days without a com... how am i gonna get any work done? tech guys seemed unsympathetic to my plight... probably coz they really just don't care... alrite then... tried to utilise myself to the furthest (coffee sir?) till i got my com back... but when it came back... it left me even more depressed... the whole system crash... everything was gone... my files... my templates... my bosses' memos... and even the important things... my videos... my music... ALL GONE! It's like she doesn't recognise me anymore... the warm touch of my fingers on her soft keyboard... a gentle hand on her mouse... AHHH! *throws keyboard back*... YOU'RE NOT THE SAME!... i dun know you anymore...

Caught TMNT the other day and i was rather disappointed with it actually... maybe its coz of the high expectations of the show seeing that i grew up watching this and transformers (which i hope won't be disappointing)... in any case... the turtles look much slimmer now compared to the cartoon version... plus the foot soldiers aka the foot clan look rather robotic now... oh well... times have passed since the days of shredder... and my memory of raphael was of a sarcastic turtle dude... but he seems to be "more angry" now... oh well... looking forward to transformers... shrek 3 and simpsons then!

Haven't played football in quite a while recently... especially last sat when i had to work so i missed training... was really looking forward to today and playing with my mates at work... skies were a lil dark but we still went ahead anyway... my my... when we were playing it was as if we were in Manchester... strong gutsy winds and tiny raindrops kept on coming at us... so much so for once i wasn't sweating... but my game came to a premature end when i treaded over the ball and did my ankle in... very painful indeed... walking is a challenge itself... arghs... means i'm gonna miss training on Sat again... bummer...

Lastly to my friend Adrian: It's not that I don't want to tag your board... i'll do it when i'm at home but i'm hardly online when at home... when i blog its at work... and being where i am... there are a lot of sites that i cannot visit... fortunately blogs aren't one of them... BUT dun know why... ur tagboard doesn't seem to load here... oh yeah... neither do your pics so i can't enjoy them... will periodically check them out when i'm at home k? haha...

Pretend I Don't Know

Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock has branded Gareth Southgate 'a disgrace' after the Boro boss fielded a weakened line-up in the defeat to Manchester City on Saturday.
'It's a disgrace. I know Gareth's a friend of Stuart Pearce's and they had Manchester United to face,' Warnock told Sky Sports News.
'But it's scandalous and I would love to see them lose their next six games and see how they feel in the last couple, under that sort of pressure.'
'I don't think a club like Boro should disrespect Sheffield United. To not have any of those players playing against City, especially with the way they are playing at the moment, leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
'He's only a young manager but I hope that one day it happens to him and he sees what effect it can have.
'They play West Ham next and Alan Curbishley is another mate of his. He'll probably not bother there, either.'

Seems like we need to rely on favours to win these days...

Really felt like a noob (read: newbie) the other day when i was playing mahjong with my friends... It was still "dong feng" (read: east wind) when i did the stunningly outrageous and "zha-hu" (read: they think it's all over but it isn't)... Stanley was "nice" enough to point out my mistake... apparently my "pair of eyes" involved an 8 and a 9... used humour as a way to laugh it off... but i was pissed man! i juz couldn't believe i made a mistake like tat... think lemon tea is ruining my vision...

Working on Saturday... woo hoo...

It's tough being a City fan...

(From left: Ivan, Gary, Gary, Jon)

'We threw everything at it - kitchen sink, golf clubs. We emptied the garage and threw it at them but it wasn't enough. At least my garage is tidy.' - Ian Holloway on Plymouth's attack on Watford's goal during their FA cup clash.

City are out of the FA cup... another disappointing season...

After procrastinating for so long... i've finally sent in my university application... SIM the location... decided to take off last wednesday so that i could get all of my stuff done up... woke up at a fairly reasonable time (10am) so that could meet Stan to make our way down to the west... basically... everything should have been done by wed but urs truly forgot to bring the originals when at the counter and so i was sent home packing with saturday now the intended return date... returned 3 days later after my football match all sunburned and now my application's done... gotta wait till April when i'll get official word if i've been accepted... pls say a little prayer for me if u read this...

Was on my way to the dentist during my off day when this man n woman stopped me by the roadside and handed me a pamphlet... woman then asks me... do u believe in Jesus... i smile and say yes... woman smiles... man then asks if i know that the recent earthquake (there was one by the way if u din know) is one of the signs of Jesus' coming? i say yes i read abt the earthquake... but carefully skirted my way round the other question... man smiles... woman then asks me... wat church do i go to? i tell her Our Lady of Perpetual Succour... AHA!... from smiling turn to straight faced... she then says... "err ok... u just read the pamphlet ok..." and then they walk away... hmmm... interesting...

Finally reached the dentist... Literally fell asleep in the waiting area coz he was still dealing with another victim... had to have the receptionist come out from her comfort zone (desk) to actually wake me up... think the sight of my open mouth and half-closed eyes did wonders for the others in the room... anyway... got into the chair and doctor tells me i have 3 cavities... wow... and to think i've been brushing so religiously... spent close to an hr in tat office and left with an aching mouth and a lighter wallet... feel tat 2 of my fillings have come off... oh well... will assess it during my next visit... let's see now... 2009?

Haven't been to the movies of late... most recent was with Gary and we watched Just Follow Law... haha... well... wat can i say? 2 garment servants watching a show tat pokes fun at us... happily never after seems like a funny cartoon movie... but reviews for it have been disappointing so dun think i'll take the risk... but one show i'm definately eagerly anticipating is TMNT! i grew up on these shows alrite... along with Transformers and Biker Mice from Mars... haha... wow... nostalgic feeling... The History Boys sounds interesting as well... it being a British film definately influences me... always a sucker for British films...

And finally... a couple of pics of my God-nephew... why i can be God-uncle? coz my sister is the God-mother tats why... AHA! anyway... so cute la he... Name's Lucas... he has one of the funniest parents i know so he's in relatively good hands... for the moment of course... till he meets his God-uncle... HAHA!

Watch me sleep

Late nights at the office
You should have known better
We knew problems would suffice
Now it's no laughing matter

Been staying late in the office for the whole of last week... in fact... i even stayed overnite there during one of those days... well... ain't my first time anyway so nothing special... it was one of those busy periods in the work calendar again and as usual... all the NSFs in my department would have to work late during this period... when i say late i mean till midnite where buses and trains aren't an option... cabs home are the way to go... they said we could claim for it but i've yet to receive my claims and so... as usual... i'm broke... the routine's all too familiar now... work... home... work... home...

Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And all the things that you do.

I'm happy that you're doing well...

I seem to be very tense during occasions... like when i'm abt to play a match or abt to go for an interview... well... i have a plan... a plan to temporarily make all tat tenseness go away... well... at least for that occasion or so... but first... i'll need a canister...

Had this mad idea to wear bicycle shorts under my shorts when i play football next time... then can look like Arjen Robben siaz... of course he's wearing thigh guards which i'm well aware of... but bicycle shorts seem like the poorer man's solution... well... if can't play like him then can at least look like him rite...

Finally managed to take a day off... first order of business? get my university application done... i've been dragging this for a good month or so already and if i drag it any further the application date would be closed... thanks to my dear mother... half of her friends and relatives already think i'm in the course... would upset my mother a great deal if i do not enter this course... oh well... better butter my lips then...

If anybody cares... Daylight savings for the UK is on 25th March...
