City till i die

I'm City till I die,
I'm City till I die,
I know I am,
I'm sure I am,
I'm City till I die.

It’s time I spoke abt my beloved Manchester City. Unlike wat most pple think, they really are a good footballing side. But because of the more successful team known as Manchester United, we’re juz simply known as “the other half of Manchester”, much like how Everton is to Liverpool. We’ve got a great coach, a great crowd, wat’s there more to ask? Oh yeah… the players. Under Kevin Keegan, Man City used to buy players past their prime. For example, Danny Mills and Robbie Fowler, players who I felt juz did not live up to expectations at Man City. Now, Fowler has since left, while Mills soon looks to be on his way out. Under “Psycho”, he looks towards youth as his answer to City’s debt problem. Players like Flood, Croft, Ireland, Jordan, Onuoha & Richards have seen more of the ball this season than last. BWP is slightly getting more playing time while Miller will eventually get his chance. But they juz do not have the experience. They’re good youngsters, but they’re not Messi or Rooney. To be honest, Man City just does not have the strength in depth to challenge for anything. Injuries have really crippled the team to a bare minimum this season. At the beginning of the season, I could be seen telling most of my friends that they’ll be up there with the big boys, even challenging for a Champions League place. As the season progressed, I was forced to change my view. Hmmm, maybe a Uefa cup spot I fancied. As they dropped further off the pack, I thought, “hey, they’re still in the FA cup.” Beaten 2-1 by West Ham, their dream was over. Now, in 10th place and out of all cup competitions, this season looks as though it’ll finish just like the last. Only difference, we missed the Uefa cup last season by a missed penalty from the very player they nicknamed “God” at Anfield. Well, “God” din help us last season, who will be the saviour this season then?

There is no good or bad luck,
Only good news or bad news.

Got word from my colleague Dominic that some of the executives in my office would be treating us to lunch coz of the hard work we had put in during the budget period. I was kinda touched in a way coz obviously I din think they’d care. I mean, even though we put in numerous hours of OT and even stayed overnight in the office on one occasion, they wud have assumed this was wat we’re supposed to do and shouldn’t be complaining abt it anyway. Notice I put “some of the executives”, not all. Only thing left for us to do is decide on a place. Thanks for appreciating us.

Visited the Picturehouse recently. In case u dun know where tat is, it is the place where the old Cathay building used to be. Wow… that place does bring back memories. My mum used to work in tat building during her times when she was still in insurance. I remember watching many movies in that cinema as a child. There used to be a funland there too where I’d play my games or juz stand there watching others play. According to wat I saw inside, The old Cathay building closed in 2000. Has it really been 6 yrs? The shops inside the building aren’t open yet, only the cinema is. But I must say, this place does look rather spanking. Hope for better things to come then.

Jon messaged me the other day asking me to check out ebay if I still wanted tickets to Damien Rice. Although I knew the prices were gonna be outrageous anyway, juz decided to try my luck. Well, I wasn’t wrong. The prices were outrageous. Last I checked, a 70 dollar ticket had gone as high up as 201 dollars. Wat did u expect from ebay yeah? Astounding thing abt it was Jon told me it was only 90 bucks the last time he logged in. Oh well, resign to the fact. I’ll never get to watch him live this time.

So What's The Matter With You?

Now I never meant to do you wrong
That's what I came here to say
That if I was wrong,
Then I'm sorry
Don't let it stand in our way
Cos my head just aches,
When I think of
The things that I shouldn't have done
But life is for living,
We all know,
And I don't want to live it alone

( Coldplay – Life Is For Living )

You don’t come round here no more… ur hyperactivity… ur hypertension… ur bullet-like words… I dun get them anymore… u’re gone… where? I’d rather u didn’t… silence was golden… wat’s happened? Heard the rumours… they sounded too outrageous to be true… but coz of the person tat u are… anything’s possible… I admit u do freak me out at times… but I guess I wun have to worry abt tat anymore… coz u don’t come round here no more…

Tell The Truth

A guy is driving around Tennessee and he sees a sign in front of a house:"Talking Dog For Sale."He rings the bell and the owner tells him the dog is in the backyard. The guy goes into the backyard and sees a Labrador retriever sitting there.
"You talk?" he asks.
"Yep," the Lab replies.
"So, what's your story?"

The Lab looks up and says, "Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was pretty young. I wanted to help the government, so I told the CIA about my gift, and in no time at all they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one
figured a dog would be eavesdropping.

I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years running."
"But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger so I decided to settle down. I signed up for a job at the
airport to do some undercover security wandering near suspicious characters and listening in."
"I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded a batch of medals. I got married, had a mess of puppies, and now I'm just retired."
The guy is amazed. He goes back in the house and asks the owner what he wants for the dog.
"Ten dollars," the guy says.
"Ten dollars? This dog is amazing. Why on earth are you selling him so cheap?"

"Because he's a liar. He never did any of that."

Over Lemon Tea and Teh Si

Love, love is a verb
Love is a doing word
Fearless on my breath
Gentle impulsion
Shakes me, makes me lighter
Fearless on my breath
Teardrop on the fire
Fearless on my breath

Night ,night of matter
Black flowers blossom
Fearless on my breath
Black flowers blossom
Fearless on my breath
Teardrop on the fire
Fearless on my

Water is my eye
Most faithful mirror
Fearless on my breath
Teardrop on the fire
Of a confession
Fearless on my breath
Most faithful mirror
Fearless on my breath
Teardrop on the fire
Fearless on my breath

( Massive Attack – Teardrop )

Credit to my colleague "Dr Zen" who introduced to me this song. It really has this soothe calming effect on me everytime I listen to it. I recommend u to take a listen to it when u have the chance.
Note to Jon: Another colleague of mine sampled for me this band ‘Bullet for my Valentine’. A little too heavy for my liking but the kind u’d fancy. Knowing you, u’ve probably heard of them already. But do take a listen if u haven’t yet yeah.

It’s been almost 2 weeks since I last took the time to actually blog. Even my sister was commenting that I don’t update my page. Been really busy these past 2 weeks. It’s budget week here in sunny Singapore and tat means staying back for us NSmen. You can’t say no. You know why? Coz u’re a bloody NSmen. But I dun really mind. At least I’m with the guys. If I was alone then I’d probably go hysterical coz I juz can’t be alone with all these executives. Well… this week will be the last week of staying back. Thank goodness. The environment here juz makes me sleepy. Must be the lighting.

Last nite was a killer. Besides starting work at 8.30… I was told I needed to stay back after work. No problems… I mean… I’ve stayed back after work so many times. Office wants free labour from me? Nothing new… but yesterday was extraordinary mind u… by the time we were done it was already close to 4am… called my folks to tell them I wouldn’t be home and their reaction was as though I wouldn’t be home for weeks … tat’s my mum for u… anywayz… had to contend with a combination of office chairs to use as my temporary bed… wasn’t comfortable at all… We all still had to be up by 9 mind u… I had the dashing figure of notre-dame when I woke up… if u know wat I mean… I was juz aching all over the place… all I cud think abt was juz getting home… then one of the execs came up with the craziest idea… “come… play badminton…” I was all ready to fling the chair in his direction… but decided against it… “ dun want lah… tired lah” was the response of this lazy NSmen… “scared lose rite…” was his comeback… oh man… how cud I back down from a challenge? Played a few rounds during lunchtime tat literally exhausted me to the core… playing badminton with only a limited amount of sleep under ur belt juz makes u high… got back to office n word is I might be doin another overnite session again tonite… it juz keeps getting better n better…

I’ve been so out of touch with the movies lately... wanna catch Munich and Capote… I was simply in awe during the trailers… but then again… gotta find the time 1st… Read a review on this movie called “Date Movie”… reviewers listed it as a “2 out of 10 stars” film… oh my… tat rating is juz atrocious… coincidentally… the website also has a “100 worst ever movies” based on ratings of viewers… Date movie came in at 57… for more info… go to this site… imdb.com… it’s a really interesting site… not only does it review a movie… it also tells u background info on the movie and stuff u nv knew… it even has a section where pple actually go n notice “defects” in the movie… for example… like being able to see the cameramen when the actor is wearing sunglasses… or when the film is supposed to be in a certain country but is clearly wrong coz of statues or landmarks in the background… tat sort of stuff… Munich and Capote got a rating of 8/10… hmmm… gotta catch it… but then again… Syriana got an 8 too whereas Pink Panther got juz a 4… difference is I would recommend pink panther to my friends and not Syriana… maybe I’m juz an ah beng who dun understand sophisticated films…
