Ugly Rumours

Dilbert: I'm the victim of an ugly rumour at work.
Dogbert: Wait... Are you saying that the rumour is ugly or that the rumour is that you're ugly?
Dilbert: I mean that the rumour itself is ugly.
Dogbert: Well then, I have more bad news for you.

Finally... after so many delays... we've finally played street football today at work! woohoo! man oh man... the weather has always been coming in the way and it looked like it was gonna be that way again in the morning... step out of house already downpour... but fortunately the weather cleared up towards lunch time and we had a good game of "u kick me, i kick u"... court was a bit wet but the good thing is that it was cool weather which is juz perfect... quite a few unfamiliar faces today as well but hey... i'm game... see u next thurs guys...

My sister and I have a rather weird e-mailing system... she uses her hotmail account and e-mails my office account but it always gets rejected... tat's strange considering my other friends e-mail me with their hotmail account and they come thru to my work account... so she instead forwards it to my yahoo account which i can't access here in office coz they blocked us from accessing other e-mail accounts other than the work one... and so i read her e-mail on my yahoo account when i'm at home but i dun reply her there and then coz i dun like to respond to e-mails while i'm at home... and so i forward the e-mail from her in my yahoo account to my work account and respond to her while i'm at work... she'll receive it in her hotmail account and the vicious cycle continues... now... isn't e-mail supposed to be quick and easy?

Gonna be joining Stan's team for football training and matches every Saturday morning... never really been part of any serious team other than the "feel like playing then we form a team kind of thing" so my morale at the moment is quite high... even managed to rope in my pal YK to join us which is a good thing coz i now have 2 pple i know playing alongside me... in his own words... "Zidane has come out of retirement..." haha... Asked KA as well but he couldn't commit his Saturday mornings... anyway... he'll probably end up fighting half the opposing team in the 1st half and the substitutes from the opposing team by the time the match ends... coz he's already been sent off so he can only aggrevate their subs... oh trust me... i have friends like tat... ivan wants to play as well but as soon as he heard saturday mornings he say can't coz got water polo training... WATER POLO?! u talk abt arsenal all day but u'd rather play WATER POLO?! haiz... looks like we'll never play together then... on a side note i did ask my colleague gary whether he wanted to play for the team but in the end nothing materialised coz he had superstar demands... requesting a team bus and a team hotel before a match... as well as an "all pasta and salad diet" before matches... anyway... we were willing to give it all to him coz he indeed is a superstar... but in his press release... this is wat he said... quote "in football, you never say never. Although the terms are very attractive from the Fishermen FC, my agent has just informed me of other offers from Crisps Rovers, Farmercists Wellington and the Bukit Panjang Wholesale Centre Sunday Football League Team." unquote...

Cos little by little
We gave you everything
You ever dreamed of
Little by little
The wheels of your life
Have slowly fallen off
Little by little
You have to give it all in all your life
And all the time I just ask myself why
You're really here

It Ends Tonight and Wires

Your subtleties
They strangle me
I can't explain myself at all.
And all the wants
And all the needs
All I don't want to need at all.

The walls start breathing
My mind's unweaving
Maybe it's best you leave me alone.
A weight is lifted
On this evening
I give the final blow.

When darkness turns to light,
It ends tonight
It ends tonight.

A falling star
Least I fall alone.
I can't explain what you can't explain.
You're finding things that you didn't know
I look at you with such disdain

The walls start breathing
My mind's unweaving
Maybe it's best you leave me alone.
A weight is lifted
On this evening
I give the final blow.

When darkness turns to light
It ends tonight,
It ends tonight.
Just a little insight won't make this right
It's too late to fight
It ends tonight,
It ends tonight.

Now I'm on my own side
It's better than being on your side
It's my fault when you're blind
It's better that I see it through your eyes

All these thoughts locked inside
Now you're the first to know

When darkness turns to light
It ends tonight,
It ends tonight.
Just a little insight won't make this right
It's too late to fight
It ends tonight,
It ends

When darkness turns to light
It ends tonight,
It ends tonight.
Just a little insight won't make this right
It's too late to fight
It ends tonight,
It ends tonight.

Tonight
Insight
When darkness turns to light,
It ends tonight.

There are a couple of times when i'm watching football and sometimes there's an incident which prompts the commentator Andy Gray to say "6 and 1, half dozen the other"... i've always wondered... wat does it mean? and why is it said like tat? care to explain?

Just bought Athlete's album Tourist... The album was released in 2005 but only decided to take a chance n buy the album now... Basically the reason why i bought it was simply coz they have one of my all time favourite songs in it titled Wires... the song is juz so beautiful it makes u wanna listen to it over and over again... the song was written by lead singer Joel Potts and it's about his daughter who was born prematurely... looking at the lyrics... it juz all comes together...

You got wires, goin in
You got wires, comin out of your skin
You got tears
Making tracks
I got tears
That are scared of the facts

Running down corridors
Through automatic doors
Got to get to you
Got to see this through
I see hope is here in a plastic box
I've seen christmas lights reflect in your eyes

You got wires, goin in
You got wires, comin out of your skin
There's dry blood on your wrist
Your dry blood on my fingertip

Running down corridors
Through automatic doors
Got to get to you
Got to see this through
First night of your life
Curled up on your own
Looking at you now
You would never know

I see it in your eyes
I see it in your eyes
You'll be alright

I see it in your eyes
I see it in your eyes
You'll be alright
Alright

Running down corridors
Through automatic doors
Got to get to you
Got to see this through
I see hope is here in a plastic box
I've seen christmas lights reflect in your eyes

Down corridors
Through automatic doors
Got to get to you
Got to see this through
First night of your life
Curled up on your own
Looking at you now
You would never know

It was a typical day... juz like any other day... 9.30am... breakfast with my colleagues down at the canteen... walked up to the drinks stall with my colleague ivan... arghs... no can of lemon tea up on display for my fingers to pick up... i need my fix early in the morning... the apple tea and peach tea weren't tat appealing today... ahhh... wat's tat i see from the corner of my eye? a whole carton of lemon tea juz waiting to be stocked up... "xiao di yao her se mo?" the auntie asks... lemon tea pls... looking for the right amt of coins from my wallet... the auntie tells me to take it from the display... there isn't any on the display i reply in broken mandarin... her response?... "mei you jiu si mei you le"... my finger comes up from my side pointing to the carton... "aiyah na ge... ru guo qian mian mei you jiu si mei you la" she rudely tells me... i turn towards ivan... he gives me a shrug of the shoulders... "bu ke yi na yi guan gei wo meh? zhai ni ho mian" i ask the auntie in halting mandarin... "na qi ta de la.. wo sian zhai mei you kong" she replies agitatedly... MY GOD WOMAN! IT'S JUST BEHIND YOU! OPEN YOUR DAMN EYES!... of course i din say tat but the point is we've been standing here having a mini conversation for the past 30 seconds n u tell me mei you kong?... dammit! u even tell me mei you le... these canteen aunties have juz too much power... they rule with an iron fist... now wat was the poor boy to do?

The mid-season monsoon break was over... the players were eager to play again after such a long break away from the game... the teams were set... the players ready... but then... it juz had to happen... a heavy downpour rained down on the court... looked to the heavens... it din seem like relenting... the referee came out to inspect the conditions... in best interest of the players' safety the match was called off... groans were heard... the players weren't happy... Admin FC midfielder Desmond was downcast but said he'd be ready when the weather's ready... AC POD's Chinese defender Weilun expressed his disappointment in halting english by saying, "I ready to kick but rain. Next time hope the rain better."... French striker Gary added, "zee.. wat's zee wrong with zee weather? inz zee country it tees always raining u zee... from zee where i come fromz it zee always sunnies..." Defender Jon was unavailable for comment.

Watched Stranger Than Fiction over the weekend... Well... i must say tat the movie was indeed strange... It's abt how this man Harold has this very boring routine life and he can hear "voices" in his head... the voice in fact comes from an author and she's narrating his life for her new book which she has not completed yet... and guess wat? she has to kill him in her book... Harold finds out abt it from her narration and tries to stop his imminent death by finding how whose voice it is he's hearing and find her... anyway... towards the end... author and title character from novel come face to face and that already became very strange because it showed that Harold is real... point being... if u went into the cinema not expecting anything it'd be better... coz the story got very strange and fictatious... despite all tat... i particularly liked it to be honest... movie was light-heartedly funny and warm at the same time... the author who was played by Emma Thompson from Love Actually played the role without any makeup... not bad for someone who turns 48 this yr... Will Farrell is known for his comedic roles... but he played the role of Harold very well... Think if I had to choose this or Night at the Museum... I'd pick Stranger Than Fiction... Now on to The Queen!

9

I'll sing it one last time for you
Then we really have to go
You've been the only thing that's right
In all I've done

And I can barely look at you
But every single time I do
I know we'll make it anywhere
Away from here

Light up, light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you dear

Louder louder
And we'll run for our lives
I can hardly speak I understand
Why you can't raise your voice to say

To think I might not see those eyes
Makes it so hard not to cry
And as we say our long goodbyes
I nearly do

Light up, light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear my voice
I'll be right beside you dear

Louder louder
And we'll run for our lives
I can hardly speak I understand
Why you can't raise your voice to say

Slower slower
We don't have time for that
All I want is to find an easier way
To get out of our little heads

Have heart my dear
We're bound to be afraid
Even if it's just for a few days
Making up for all this mess

Light up, light up
As if you have a choice
Even if you cannot hear, my voice
I'll be right beside you, dear

There's a movie out now titled The Queen which looks rather interesting... well... at least to me... the year's 1997 and it's the death of Princess Diana... the movie shows how HM Queen Elizabeth and PM Tony Blair actually handle the situation... now it's not the actual people in the film but actors playing them... it's sorta like a dramedy... combining the tragedy and drama of her untimely death with the elements of typical British comedy sprinkled into it... unfortunately... in my view... i dun think any my friends would enjoy this one... hmmm... oh well... tat's life... the movie buff in me is slowly fading away... dying with each movie i miss... maybe someone will wanna watch Stranger Than Fiction with me...
